American cleans, British crunch -- this is perhaps the best way to describe the character of the Friedman Buxom Betty. At low the volumes, the tone sits somewhere between a tweed Fender Bassman, and a mid-60s Blackpanel amp. As the volume increases (and it certainly has a lot of that on tap), the Plexi-esque British tones are revealed. The Buxom Betty works great as a clean amp for pop, jazz, and country, and as a pedal platform for your favorite dirt boxes, while the higher gain tones cover all of your blues and classic rock needs.
